Peace Yoga Foundation Core Mission

Hope Is Where the Heart Is

1.  Deliver free and subsidised Yoga & Mindfulness classes to people in the greatest need.

 2.  Create the opportunity for people in our community to change their suffering into a new found strength, and to fulfill their potential.

 3. Make Yoga & Mindfulness easily accessible so as to help people to overcome loneliness, trauma, stress and anxiety, and to help people to rebuild their lives and become an active part of their community.

 4. Deliver the benefits of Yoga to those who might not otherwise have access to it either because of affordability, physical abilities, social anxiety or otherwise.

We want to spread our message of hope and compassion through Yoga & Mindfulness practices, advocacy, outreach activities, social inclusion for all people, without discrimination to race, age, class, disability, religion or gender. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and that collective action can greatly impact the world.

Our Projects

Collaboration and social inclusion for all  is what we do and promote at the Peace Yoga Foundation.

Awareness Raising & Outreach

Overcoming loneliness through education & social inclusion:

“We want to confront the challenge of loneliness by starting with our community, and for all of us to take action to address the loneliness endured by the young, by the elderly, by carers, by those who have lost loved ones, by refugees who have lost their homes and families — people who have no one to talk to or to share their thoughts and experiences with. ” We are investing in an innovative approach of social Yoga & Mindfulness that empowers our community by promoting mental, social and physical well-being and positive community spirit across Essex.

Community development through the offering and sharing of skills.

Doing What’s Needed for your Community...

Through our community and social inclusion programs, we all have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at the Peace Yoga Foundation, and a source of inspiration for this project. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with this program. If you are a Yoga Teacher or Meditation teacher living in Essex or North East London, we would really love to hear from you.

Tackling the Issue

Research has found that Britain has a serious problem with loneliness, more than nine million people in this country often or always feel lonely, according to a 2017 report published by the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness.

“For far too many people, loneliness is the sad reality of modern life: ” Young or old, loneliness does not discriminate’.

An new body of research now reveals that feeling chronically lonely is a cause behind heart disease, dementia, depression, and a host of other serious illnesses. Governments have declared loneliness and isolation to be a threat to social services. The UK has gone so far as to create a Minister for Loneliness.  In the next five years loneliness will change in people's minds from being a bad feeling into being a deadly health risk.  Most of our efforts in this program involve making Yoga & Mindfulness accessible to all, studying new approaches, and developing innovative ways to implement them.
