Young or old, loneliness does not discriminate’

Britain, has a serious problem with loneliness, research has found. More than nine million people in the country often or always feel lonely, according to a 2017 report published by the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness.

“For far too many people, loneliness is the sad reality of modern life,”


An new body of research now reveals that feeling chronically lonely is a cause behind, heart disease, dementia, depression, and a host of other serious illnesses.

Governments have declared loneliness and isolation a threat to social services.


The UK has gone so far as to create a Minister for Loneliness.

In the next five years loneliness will morph in people's minds from being a bad feeling into being a deadly health risk.
